July 13, 2014

Friends of Maple Grove presented a Jazz Concert with Barbara Rosene on Saturday, July 12, 2014.

On July 12, 2014, The Maple Grove Jazz Concert with Barbara Rosene took place at Celebration Hall. This event was a major success with a packed house of admirers and lovers of wonderful music! The delicious Wine and Cheese reception was received very favorably. All the lovely ladies who attended were given a “Christmas in July” jewelry gift donated by Material For The Arts and was indeed very much appreciated. Located on the wall behind the musicians was a new display of the Musical Treasures of Maple Grove Cemetery. A group of 8 x 10 glossy photographs of La Vern Baker, Jimmy Rushing, Vincent Youmans, Theresa Merritt, Tony Sbabaro and George Washington Johnson. Barbara was sang many songs in tribute to the Musical Treasures of Maple Grove Cemetery. Their past history came alive again as well as their timeless music. Barbara was warm, funny and absolutely wonderful.

Photographs taken by Photographer Jo Anne Raskin.

Barbara Rosene will be on a Tour of Japan and Europe during the fall season.
