SHARE THEIR STORY
Our loved ones are never gone, until they are forgotten. Keep their life story alive.
The Friends of Maple Grove Cemetery is an organization of dedicated volunteers that strongly believe a cemetery can have a dual purpose; provide a resting place for our dearly departed ones and become a place to celebrate and honor their life story. Maple Grove Cemetery has a rich history, and was founded in 1875. We care for many wonderful and incredible people and we pay tribute to them with various events and programs. For example:
We paid tribute to Rosina Lhvienne, the noted pianist and piano teacher of Van Cliburn and Oscar winner John Williams with a series of Concerts.
We pay tribute to our other great musical treasures at Maple Grove like Jimmy Rushing, LaVern Baker, Vincent Youmans, Tony Sbarbaro etc. with various musical concerts and venues.
We honor many of our great scientific notables like aviation pioneer Charles Manly, Radio pioneer Alfred Grebe etc. with our unique children’s programs and workshops.
We give a voice to those we care for with our annual Spirits Alive event where actors portray many of those here and tell their life story dressed in period costume.
We honor the creation of our Victorian Era cemetery with an annual Victoriana Event. A day filled with lectures, displays, music and refreshments.
We honor those at Maple Grove with Walking Tours and highlight the fascinating life stories that abound here.
We honor our Veterans with a sacred Memorial Day Ceremony and Service.
These are some of the wonderful and unique programs we offer that honor those we care for at Maple Grove. We are making Maple Grove a place that celebrates life and pays tribute to those from the past through tours, workshops, concerts, and other events.
Please tell us your beloved one’s life story. We have a large collection of family archives. They must never be forgotten and we must keep their life stories alive.
