About The Event
In the Celebration Hall with reception to follow. Sound and Memory will present a live music program and workshop exploring green burial practices and eco-friendly rituals. Led by End of Life Doula, Violinist and Music Composer Concetta Abbate. In this program we will discuss the value of cemeteries as green community spaces and historical sites. We will learn what eco burial options are available at Maple Grove Cemetery (Queens, NYC) and we will explore our philosophical connections to nature through life and death. Each topic will be interwoven with a live musical offering and reflection. This program is sponsored by the Human Impacts Institute and the Friends of Maple Grove. Dedicated to the families of those laid to rest at Maple Grove over the past 150 years. They carry the love, the memories and the music in their hearts.
