Summer Science Workshop for Children Time for Trees—Forest Ecology Hands On Saturday, July 30, 2011 2:00 PM
The 2011 Summer Science Workshops sponsored by a grant from the Josephine Foundation has come to its conclusion with this workshop on Forest Ecology. The weather was wonderful and the particpants enjoyed a cool breeze under the trees and learned all about the forest; its various trees and inhabitants, and numerous scientific facts. Ms. Venus from the Alley Pond Environmental Center (APEC) was there to guide the workshop and had many hands-on activities.
Maple Grove indeed was the perfect setting for the workshops and provided a wonderful backdrop. Helen Day was there to help as was Dominque Leone who helped at all three workshops. It ended with cookies and drinks, and Science Certificates were given out to all participants. Everyone is already looking forward to a new set of workshops next summer!
Thank you to all those who helped to make it a wonderful program!
