Franken Puppet Workshop

Franken Puppet Workshop Create an Amazing Puppet and Bring it to Life! Saturdays, May 26, June 2, June 9, 2:00–5:00 PM

See our video of this event reported by NY1 News.

On Saturday June 9, 2012 there was a wonderful performance showcasing two skits by the students who attended the three day Puppet Workshop at the Center at Maple Grove. The workshops were conducted by David Ezra Stein (Dr. Stringyputty) and Ido Tuchman (Dr. Bean) with eight children participants. They created their own puppets from discarded toys and wrote skits and performed to an appreciative audience. The title of the skits were "The Dance Party" and "The Food Caper." The alcove entrance way to the Columbarium was magically transformed by Scenery Designer and Board Member Cequyna Moore into a beautiful stage. Cequyna not only sewed the elegant drapes but also worked as a stagehand during the performance! The performance won rave reviews and was even taped by NY1 News. Judy Close our fellow board member presented citations to the children and to Doctors Stringyputty and Bean for their wonderful community spirit.

Another great triumph for the Friends of Maple Grove.
