Holiday Caroling Celebration

Our first Holiday Celebration, held on Friday night, December 14 was a wonderful success!

The Celebration Hall was filled and all had a marvelous time with much activity.

The night began with Randy Barron, donating his time, by setting up the telescope which allowed many people to see the planet Jupiter and four of its moons. Many were absolutely astonished that they could see the planet so clearly. Thank you Randy!

Bonnie Dixon treated all to a wonderful spread of delicious cookies and sweet treats along with steaming cups of hot chocolate. It was beautifully displayed.

We than had the video presentation of Jacob's Gift, presented by the Aquinas Honor Society. As many of you know it told the true story of how Jacob Riis, a Richmond Hill resident, brought Christmas caroling to America in 1911. Those who did not know were quite surprised by this story and marveled at the details found in it.

This was followed by wonderful and glorious singing by Voices That Blend, led by Andrew Koslosky. There were also some beautiful readings throughout the program and one was the letter Yes Virginia, There is a Santa Claus. They were just amazing and performed many wonderful carols and other songs that brought back many wonderful holiday memories.

The last song was a wonderful rendition of the Twelve Days of Christmas coordinated by Bonnie Dixon, which had the participation of the entire audience. It was greeted with much joy and celebration and all hated to see the night come to an end.
